China's Taobao Sees Transactions Up 131 Percent
Feb 13, 2009 - Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China - China's top online auction firm Taobao said its transaction volume surged to 99.96 billion yuan (USD 14.63 billion) in 2008, up 131 percent from 2007, helped by higher Internet usage in the country. Taobao, also known as Chinas eBay, has 98 million registered users, about half of which are aged between 25 and 32, the company said in a statement.
